My name is Malcolm Newman and I am the owner of Premier Lofts. I have been in the loft conversion business for 30 years. Whilst working for one of the Big Loft Conversion companies for 13 years, I felt there was more that could be done. Believing that there was a market for offering homeowners a personalised service, along with a high specification of work, I started Premier Lofts in December 1990. I wanted to be in a position as quickly as possible to generate work by way of word of mouth. Obviously, starting from scratch I had to advertise initially, but within two years of establishing the business, I was self sufficient in running purely on recommendations, and this has carried through to present day.
This was achieved, I believe, for several reasons. I deal with every client from start to finish, and everything I do is geared up to provide a quality result and to try and get that further recommendation at the end of the job. I do what I say I am going to do as efficiently as possible, whilst at the same time managing realistic client expectations. I project manage every job and speak to some clients on site, but for those that are not available, it is my practise to initiate at least two calls a week to provide an update. I have also resisted the temptation of enlarging the business, which has enabled me to continue working with a small band of tradesmen, which ensures stability and consistency of product and service. I am proud of the work that we do and the service provided and look forward to the opportunity of building a loft that you will enjoy for years to come.
